Laparoscopic Uterine Suspension of the retrodisplaced uterus
Hur Min

Abstract
In recent year, uterine suspension has become an infrequent operation on most gynecologic services. While numerous types of uterine suspension have been described, the round ligament fixation to rectus muscle sheath is commonly performed, because of its ease and low complication rate.
As part of conservative surgical treatment for infertility, pelvic pain and dyspareunia, uterine suspension using laparoscopic visualization has been described by Steptoe in 1967.
In his procedure, round ligaments were sutured to the anterior surface of rectus fascia, and thereby reducing the morbidity, complication rate, operating time, and hospital day.
Moreover, we think a small transverse skin incision as likely as modified Pfannenstiel incision on th suprapubic region is more cosmetic, and described 10 patients who had been undergone uterine suspension using laparoscope in our hospital as a part of conservative treatment for infertility and pelvic pain
